Create, edit, and manage your own customizable commodity database. Use this database to quickly complete online rate quotations, bills of lading, pickup requests, and more.

The following information provides a step-by-step guide on how to use this feature as well as a list of common questions.

Step by Step Guide

To access this feature, you must be logged on to the site. You may request a password or logon now.

View Commodites

  • A saved commodity  will remain in your list until it is deleted.
  • A commodity that is not saved  will remain in your list for 45 days after it has been shipped with ABF.
  • Edit commodity information by clicking  .
  • Delete a commodity by clicking .

Add New Commodites

  1. Enter a commodity id to help you quickly identify your commodities (OPTIONAL).
  2. Enter the item and sub information. 
    • Enter as much or as little of the fields in black.  The fields in red are required.
  3. Enter a description for the commodity.
  4. Click "Save."

Upload Commodites from File

  • Choose your file type. You can upload an Excel (XLS) spreadsheet or ASCII comma-delimited (CSV) file.
  • Click "Browse" and select the file you wish to upload.
  • The file must match the file format to the following examples. If prompted to download, select "Save as..." and download to local drive.
  • Excel Example (with HEADER row)
  • Excel Example (without HEADER row)
    Note: Format your entire Excel spreadsheet as "Text" to prevent losing leading zeros in your data.
  • ASCII Comma-Delimited Example (with HEADER row)
  • ASCII Comma-Delimited Example (without HEADER row)
    Note: The ASCII comma-delimited examples may open as Excel files. To view as CSV files, open into a text editor like Notepad.
  • Review descriptions of commodity variables that may be supplied in your file.
  • Click "Upload" to process the file of commodities.
